The 1959 Fords were a major redesign, although they still used the 1957-58 bodyshells. Square lines, and a wide V trim that spanned the width of the trunk, and ended at the backup lights which were positioned on top of the rear fenders. Below the backup lights were huge round taillights. Relatively little chrome trim on the sites. At the front the grille stretched across the entire front of the car and was made up of a star-shaped grid. Available engines were the 223 cid based 6-cylinder rated at 145 hp. V8s were the 292 cid 185 hp; 352 cid 235 hp, 352 300 hp, and 352 cid 360 hp versions.
